The October 2016 power system. If you are looking for a reliable workhorse of a machine I believe this will be it. This can be used as a low end gaming system. It will be good for video processing, photography and Graphics processing. As usual I scour for components for various systems that can be built and present them here for your critical analysis, purchase, or request for me to build for you. Links to the parts are provided from Amazon and I will try my best to choose Prime qualifying components. If you choose for me to build the system for you I charge 10% per $100 (a minimum $50). A system that includes water cooling will have an additional $100 for water cooling install. All systems I build are stress tested. And now I present for you the system with the total cost at the end.
The Power System October 2016
Intel could be argued as the king of processing. They have been around since the beginning and still thrive today. This Intel i7 processor will be a true workhorse for you. Released in 2016 with 3.4ghz of power with 6 cores this chip is swift, nimble and simply built. The socket LGA-2011 series processors do not include graphics processing allowing you to customize your graphics needs perfect for video editing, graphics processing, and photo edits. Don’t think this is just for creation. If you do a lot of online work this will handle media rich websites that tend to weigh down a system.
Nothing to exciting for the average user about a fan. The cooling system is an important part of any build and this fan will do the job nicely. I did not include thermal paste with this build as it is not a component. Remember to pick up a tube of thermal paste of your choice. They average about $5-$10.
This Gigabyte motherboard is a truly a master at what it does. Built very simple and yet powerful for managing the system. There are 2 standard keyboard and mouse connections if you prefer the old style connectors. There are 10 USB ports varying with a majority of USB 3.0 and the remainder USB 2.0. This board has PCI-E slots at x162 and x83. The memory slots straddle the CPU on both sides and this concerns me for the processor fan. Four module smay or may not be used depending on fan used and height. I was not concerned with this for this build as I am only using 2 memory modules. This board wraps up with SATA and Raid for your storage needs.

ASUS has made a name for itself for making quality products and this graphics card is no different. It is powered by an AMD HD6450 graphics chip at 650 MHZ. It packs 2GB DDR3 ram for moving through the rendering. This card will suport up to 2 monitors despite having three connections. It is not a power graphics processor but it will get your jobs done.
Solid State drives are catching on quite popularly for their speed and efficiency of data movement. However their prices do not seem to be dropping. So for this build I selected a tried and true old fashioned hard drive. This Toshiba drive is a 7200rpm work horse. You could go with less storage than the 2 GB drive I selected here, but why would you? You will likely need at minimum the storage capacity your digital files. This drive gives ample space at a good price. Yes an SSD would be swifter, but in the case of a drive failure the tried and true method will prove cheaper for your data recovery.
The part of the system you actually see, the case! You can select any case cheaper or higher priced. I chose this one because it is a little more sleek looking for a high end design. It has some curves, some edges, front media ports. It has just enough expansion room. There is ample vents to provide optimal cooling and cooling expansion. It will even allow you to rebuild the inside in the future if you wish to.
The power supply is an important part of a higher end build. It needs to be able to handle the system. I use this calculator. It has a good collection of information on different devices and processors. This system requires a 500w power supply and I chosen a quality power supply by Thermaltake with an additional power toggle on the back.
So the moment of truth. How much does this system cost?

You may have noticed that I did not include Microsoft Windows 10. Many people use other operating systems and they may want to install those instead. In other words the systems I build are about choice. Microsoft prices Windows 10 at about $99 to $119 and it may be downloaded to a USB from Microsoft or a USB drive may be purchased. The computer system here does not include a DVD drive but one may be added if you order a DVD. If you are looking for a free operating system I recommend Linux Mint.
