November 2016 Budget Computer

Welcome to the second month! Last month month featured all AMD processors so this month I will choose all Intel processors. I think this wil be smart as well as switching back and forth monthly. If you choose for me to build the system for you I charge 10% per $100 (a minimum $50). A system that includes water cooling will have an additional $100 for water cooling install.  All systems I build are stress tested. And now I present for you the system with the total cost at the end.

The Budget Computer November 2016

Intel G3258 4 Pentium 3.20 GHz 3M Cache 2 Core Processor (BX80646G3258) (Personal Computers)

New From: $75.00 USD In Stock
Used from: $64.99 USD In Stock

Intel has long been a strong chip maker even though the past few years they have faultered a bit (Intel had their own 64-bit standard that didn’t do so well and so now Intel uses competitor AMD64). The Pentium brand has been one of their long standing lines. Here is a Pentium processor that will work well for this system. It is decent, cheap, and will complete your word processing, and internet use just fine.

ASUS H81M-E MicroATX DDR3 1333 LGA 1150 Motherboards (Personal Computers)

List Price: $51.00 USD
New From: $48.37 USD In Stock
Used from: $29.99 USD In Stock

ASUS makes good products and this motherboard is no different. It is basic and includes the modern needs you will need. This is not a good selling paragraph because well, this is low cost and gets the job done. Nuff’ said.

Samsung M393B1K70CH0-YH9 8GB PC3L-10600R DDR3-1333 ECC Registered 2RX4 Server Memory (Personal Computers)

List Price: $24.00 USD
New From: $20.51 USD In Stock
Used from: $24.88 USD In Stock

I doubled the budget system memory this month to 8GB because it could be done. Enough savings were made to double up the Ram. 8GB DDR3.

Hard Drive

A western digital 320GB hard drive. Just enough for your work and internet needs. There is also room to expand for more storage drives if needed.

Antec MicroATX Tower Case VSK-4000E (Accessory)

List Price: $29.95
New From: $29.34 USD In Stock
Used from: Out of Stock

The first computer I ever built had an Antec case and so I felt it appropriate to salute that with this case. Looks almost exactly the same except this one has ports on top and black.  Ports, yep this one has your standard USB and audio ports up front.

Power Supply

Coolmax 240-Pin 400 Power Supply with 1×80 mm Low Noise Cooling Fan (I-400) (Personal Computers)

List Price: $14.99 USD
New From: $15.49 USD In Stock
Used from: $14.00 USD In Stock

You cannot use a computer without power. This one will do all you need it to do.

So the moment of truth. How much does all this cost?

The charge if I build for you is $264.07.

You may have noticed that I did not include Microsoft Windows 10. Many people use other operating systems and they may want to install those instead. In other words the systems I build are about choice. Microsoft prices Windows 10 at about $99 to $119 and it may be downloaded to a USB from Microsoft or a USB drive may be purchased. The computer system here does not include a DVD drive but one may be added if you order a DVD.

Don’t like some of my choices? What would you do differently? Let me know in the comments then buy the components above.
